Due to the nature of the SharePoint configuration, NIC Wisconsin is mindful to the changes needed to ensure your Agency Template site remains available to the public whenever possible. In addition to our annual disaster recovery exercises which test our ability to get services back online in the even of an interruption, we also work to proactively ensure the health of your website.
To aid us, it is requested that if you are aware of any changes, announcements, or launches on your site that will drive a higher than usual traffic load to the site that you notify your NIC Wisconsin project manager at least 1 week in advance of the anticipated traffic increase. The sooner we know, the better. If 1 week notice isn't doable, please notify us as soon as you are able.
When we are aware of an event, we are able to increase environment resources to better handle the load and prevent the site from being inaccessible. The process for which involves changes being made to the environment which are invisible to public users but may briefly affect authors and approvers while working on the site concurently with the evironment changes.
